The Centraal Museum in Utrecht is organising contemporary art exhibitions in Oud-Amelisweerd, a country house on the outskirts of the city of Utrecht. Since 2022 two exhibitions of renowned artists are presented on the first floor of Landhuis Oud-Amelisweerd each year.
Rory Pilgrim joins this programme of exhibitions, following the preceding solo shows of Amie Dicke, Marijke van Warmerdam, Hannah van Bart, Han Schuil and Ansuya Blom.
Social engagement, music, and an attention to language and dialogue characterise the work of Rory Pilgrim. Pilgrim has been living and working in the Netherlands for around 15 years and has built up a multifaceted oeuvre of song lyrics, musical compositions and videos, films, drawings, installations and live performances. They bring together different generations and life experiences and poses questions about living together and caring for one another, but also for the world.
This programme is a partner project of Hartwig Art Foundation.
