Join us for the launch of Meredith Monk’s first monograph, a 400-page in-depth exploration of the legendary artist’s groundbreaking oeuvre, at the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam—the venue of her first European retrospective last year.
The programme opens with Carillon Call, a piece composed by Monk specifically for the Oude Kerk’s carillon. This will be followed by a discussion with Hartwig Art Foundation director and curator of Monk’s retrospective, Beatrix Ruf, joined by Jochem Valkenburg, Programming Director music at Holland Festival and Mariette Dölle, director of the Oude Kerk. Together, they will reflect on the lasting legacy of this multifaceted artist, before we conclude with celebratory drinks.
A special signed edition of the book will be available for purchase.
